RANGE ROVER EVOQUE GENEVA 1ST MARCH 2011
I felt terrible for leaving the Trooper behind but I thought she might not make it to Geneva. Land Rover lent me a Discovery or a 'Disco' as they say in the trade. HEAVY MOTOR. I felt a bit flash driving it without the trailer but for towing it was amazing. It came with cruise control and a very adequate sound system. Louis selecting the music...

Range Rover Evoque GENEVA 1ST MARCH 2011
UK based artist Benedict Radcliffe unveiled his most recent collaboration with car manufacturer Land Rover on Tuesday, a wireframe art installation of the Range Rover Evoque. The exclusive Land Rover event was held at this year's Geneva motor show as a part of their 'pulse of the city' campaign for whom radcliffe created a series of wireframe installations that have been on display all over the world.
Made entirely from steel, bent and formed, welded together, filed down, powder coated and then painted in a myriad of bright colors, radcliffe's life size installation reflects his passion for machinery and handwork. the installation includes 3d wheels with both front and back seats suspended in left, right and top cross sections of the car.
For Land Rover, the frame was built to reveal many of the interior and exterior features that allow customers to personalize their vehicles. however the frame also allows for viewers to reinterpret their relationship to a vehicle and the space both contained inside and around the object.
Radcliffe has a studio in london where he pursues both personal projects and exhibitions as well as collaborating with international companies. He recently finished a circular soccer pitch for Continental.

Cars and Bikes
Me & Alexandra
Health and Safety- Helene and me; Colette in the cart.
We had two or three of the Honda Express mopeds. They were a
great bike for us to play around with in the garden when
we were young. At 10 /11 years old I'd seen a few mini motorbikes
like the Italjet and Honda below and wanted one BAD. I wasn't ever going
to get one. They were £150/£200 and my father would pick up an old Express or Cub 90 for £20.
I remember excitedly discussing with him how we could make it less like a
Frank Spencer moped and more like a Motocrosser... The tank
should be moved to the front. Handlebars much lower and different seat.
We never got round to it. These memories stirred when making the
Moto-Bike a few months ago.
Soichiro Honda adapted WWII suplus engines, originally designed to power army transmitters, for use on comon bicycles. The above image represents the crude but important beginning of the Honda legacy. Honda's Model A of 1947, the first production engine of Honda design, also intended for fitting to commercially available bicycles.
When mounting an engine in a bike goes wrong:
Ride away cheap modern take on a classic.
Framed
Cheapo
Busy
A bit primitive.
Suspect structure
Hmmmmmmm?
Wobbly
This is probably lots of fun but the lines are horrible.
I prefer this:
Slinky, slammed, crude and ratty. Authentic.
Floating petrol tank & Kustom seat stays.
More Goodies:
DIY tank and frame look tidy. Rude plastic tri-spoker.
This is very clever. Modified CRF50 frame. CRF50 engine, seat and tank.
Engineered aluminium swing arm. Downhill forks.
Lots of problems solved if you can re-use existing parts and off the shelf components.

Sophisticated chain drive configuration.
My CRF 50 waiting to be chopped up.

MBK Crazy Bike. Considered as well as Crazy, woah!
